It’s great timing, Sony.  I really need a new DVD changer right about now.

Many, many years ago, I bought three Sony 5-disc carousel CD players for our three distinct home entertainment centers.  They have performed without a hitch.  Perhaps you are a lot like me.  Now, (and it’s about time!) you’d like to add DVD to your system, but you don’t want to add another piece of equipment, and you don’t want to lose any of the functionality that you have with what you already have.

Sony has just what you need, the new DVP-NC600 ($299), a five-disc changer designed for consumers looking to upgrade their existing single or five-disc CD changers.  This new Sony DVD changer plays DVDs, CDs, and also the new CD-R and CD-RW discs that you burn on your computer, so it’s very versatile.  It does more in the same space as the old deck and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

The new Digital Image Enhancer technology makes those highly defined edges on DVD-Video images even sharper.  I have to tell you, the picture from this player is really excellent.  Some in my family watched the DVDs from this player and commented about the extra sharp and extra clear images we watched on our TV.  It was noticeable even to those in my family who don’t usually notice such things.

This new DVD changer builds on Sony’s expertise.  Did you know that Sony was first to market the 5-disc CD changer?

I’ve been testing this new model and it works so smoothly!  I like the new Instant Replay feature that allows consumers to replay a particular scene with touch of a button on the remote.  This backs up the action and replays the last 10-seconds of the material.

This new DVD player will also play CD-R and CD-RW, so the kids will no longer have a problem playing those discs they burn on the computer.  If your home theater system is non-existent, then you’ll like the TV Virtual Surround Sound that offers different sound enhancement modes including a virtual center channel for clearer dialogue reception.

Setup was quick and easy.  If ever there was a no-brainer, this is it!  Easy and versatile, great picture, great sound, great product. It would make a great gift, too!
