Don’t let the name fool you. It’s not a "club." That’s just the name. Since 1989 I have shopped and bought there and recommended them to everyone on and off the air. In my experience, if they have it, they have it for less than anyone else. They don’t play the price comparison game, though. They won’t give you a price on the phone so you can shop them and then go elsewhere to someone who will match the price. Star Club’s prices are always the lowest so they don’t have to "match" someone else’s price. Besides, I don’t like the idea of "matching" prices. Retailers who do this charge more unless challenged. I think this stinks! Don’t you? That’s why I like Star Club.
What do they carry? Primarily, Star Club sells audio systems and components, big screen TV, direct view TV (the traditional kind of TV), VCR, camcorders, satellite systems (DirecTV and EchoStar), DVD players, some cordless phones and 35mm cameras, a few fax machines, a few bookshelf audio systems, some audio and video accessories. Recently, it was announced that star Club is one of just a few retailers who will launch the era of HDTV (High Definition TV) in the Los Angeles area. Star Club is an authorized ProScan dealer and will carry and demonstrate HDTV beginning December, 1998.
It’s a tiny store crammed to the rafters with merchandise. Other independent stores have come and gone in the L.A. market (Pacific Stereo, Leo’s Stereo, Rogers Sound Labs and lots more have come and gone, while Star Club prospers).
They don’t carry every brand or every model of the brands they do carry. The manager, Isaac, picks and chooses the merchandise he thinks is the best quality for his clientele. He doesn’t carry junk or the least expensive models in the lines he carries. It’s the good stuff for the least money. He’ll tell you why he carries what he does. Don’t be surprised if he doesn’t carry a popular brand or model you’ll find elsewhere. There’s a good reason for this, and he’ll tell you. He hates complaints and unhappy customers. He prides himself on repeat business. Visit there to find the good stuff at the best prices. He has a long list of celebrity clients, and they’re the cheapest skinflints around, so he must be doing something right!
I know customers living all over the US who simply call, take Isaac’s advice and have the product shipped. Just because you live far from Southern California doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of what Star Club has to offer. Make your shopping a no-brainer. Call Isaac, tell him what you’re looking for, take his advice and he’ll ship it to you. Use your credit card at no additional charge. Is that simple enough for you?
I don’t waste my time shopping around any more. Once you buy from Star Club, you’ll be a customer and tell your friends. It’s worth the drive or a call to Star Club!
